OUR APPROACH

A Pain Management Clinic Focused on Finding the Source

Pain is a symptom, not a diagnosis. Two people with lower back pain can need very different care. One may have an irritated nerve, another an inflamed joint in the spine. That’s why interventional pain management begins with a careful evaluation instead of a one-size-fits-all prescription.

Our pain management specialists combine a physical exam, your medical history and a review of any imaging you already have to narrow down what’s causing your pain. From there, your plan may include targeted injections, nerve-focused procedures, regenerative therapies, physical therapy, or a combination, depending on your condition and how your body responds.

Non-Surgical Options First

Many patients can explore non-surgical pain treatment before considering an operation. If your evaluation suggests surgery may be the better path, we’ll talk it through with you openly.

Coordinated, Multidisciplinary Care

Interventional procedures, physical therapy, acupuncture and functional medicine are offered within one practice, so each part of your care can work together.

Sacroiliac (SI) Joint Injection

Targets the joint where the lower spine meets the pelvis, a common source of buttock and low back pain.

Pain Management FAQs

What does a pain management doctor do?

A pain management doctor works to identify the source of your pain and treat it with approaches such as targeted injections, nerve-focused procedures and rehabilitative therapies. The goal is to reduce pain and improve function so you can get back to your daily activities.

Consider an evaluation if your pain has lasted more than a few weeks, keeps coming back, affects your sleep or daily activities, or hasn’t improved with rest and over-the-counter care. Seek emergency care right away for sudden severe pain with loss of bladder or bowel control, new weakness in your legs, or pain after a serious injury.

For many conditions, non-surgical and minimally invasive treatments are tried before surgery is considered. Whether they’re right for you depends on your diagnosis. If your evaluation suggests surgery may be a better option, your provider will discuss it with you.

Some insurance plans require a referral from your primary care doctor, and others don’t. Call our office and we’ll help you check what your plan requires.
